Selena Gomez content to be in Justin Bieber's company

Washington, Aug 5 : Selena Gomez has revealed that she doesn’t care where she goes with her boyfriend Justin Bieber because they both enjoy each other’s company.

Gomez, 19, who has been pictured enjoying outings throughout the US with Bieber, admits that the place is not important as being together.

“We don’t even think about where we go. We just like being together,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

She also revealed that it can be “tough” living her life and having a relationship in the spotlight, but she still tries to be as normal as possible.

 London, July 30 : Singer-actress Selena Gomez, who is in a "relationship" with teen sensation Justin Beiber, says she has no plans to tie the knot as she is just 19.

When asked whether she would "marry" Bieber, she replied: "No, I'm only 19!"

Justin Bieber shoots ad to support campaign against texting while driving

Washington, July 20 : Pop singer Justin Bieber has filmed an advertisement to support a campaign against texting while driving.

The teen pop sensation filmed the commercial for PhoneGuard, the company behind the free Drive Safe application, which locks the text-messaging function on Android and  to prevent drivers from typing while travelling at more than 10 miles-an-hour (16 kilometres-per-hour).

In the advertisement, the ‘Baby hitmaker’ says, "I get it, it''s tempting to text and drive, but maybe it''s time to take responsibility for our actions. If someone texts you while you''re driving, let them wait. You''re more important than a text could ever be."

"This campaign isn''t anti-texting. It''s about texting responsibly,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling HuffingtonPost.com.

Selena Gomez avoids surfing internet

London, July 5 : Singer-actress Selena Gomez has given up surfing the internet after receiving nasty online comments from fans jealous of her romance with singer Justin Bieber.

Gomez, 18, and Bieber, 17, went public with their relationship this year. But the revelation infuriated some of the "Baby" hitmaker's fans, who targeted Gomez online.

"It's weird, it's just weird, but I don't pay attention to it, I just try to live my life as normal as possible. I just like to not focus on what the whole world is saying about me and just be happy with myself," contactmusic.com quoted Gomez as saying.

"I try to not read magazines or the internet but it's obviously unavoidable. I mean, it's everywhere, so there are moments where I read things that hurt my feelings But not most of the time. I don't surround my life with magazines or the internet," she added.

Justin Bieber rules out male fragrance

Justin Bieber has no plans to release a male fragrance because he is more interested in how girls smell.

The 'Baby' singer's debut perfume Someday is for females and although he is not opposed to working on a scent for guys, he thinks it was "smarter" to work on a feminine fragrance because guys always notice when the opposite sex smells good. 

He told ET Canada: "I'm not opposed to [working on a male fragrance] but I'm more into how females smell. 

"Guys are the people smelling the perfume on the girls. It's not the other girls . so I think that's the smarter thing." 

Justin is so happy with Someday - which he was "100 per cent involved in" - he hopes his fans will wear it when they come to his personal appearances. 

He explained: "If I was at a meet-and-greet and smelled this on a certain someone, then I would be like, 'Wow, that smells really good.' " 

Justin also revealed Someday was inspired by achieving your dreams which is why the accompanying commercial features actress Dree Hemingway portraying a fan whose ambition is to meet him. 

He explained to People magazine: "It explains a dream. Someday I will drive a BMW. Someday I will be an astronaut. 

"In the commercial, [co-star Dree's] someday was meeting me. So when she sprayed on the perfume, I appeared in the room and we floated off into this place . that's what I perceive it as."

Justin Bieber injured

New York, June 25 : Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber was hurt after a man jumped over him in New York.

Bieber was signing autographs for fans outside Macy's department store, June 23, when the man vaulted the barricade and knocked him to the ground. His injuries were said to be "minor" by local news teams.

The 17-year-old's security team quickly tackled the man and handed him to the police.

"When he was grabbed, his security grabbed the person. Bieber came inside looking very shaken up and holding his arm. While inside, he was comforted by his dad and his security guard Kenny. Scooter Braun, his manager, was also on the scene," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

IIFA show is 'Indian kitsch', not Indian culture: Deepa Mehta

By Gurmukh Singh , Toronto, June 22 : Indo-Canadian filmmaker Deepa Mehta has described the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards here this week as "Indian kitsch".

The three-day Bollywood show does not represent Indian culture, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker said here Tuesday.

"Bollywood is not Indian culture, it's pop culture. There's a big difference," Mehta told the Canadian Press.

To describe the IIFA Awards as representation of Indian culture is just like calling teen pop sensation Justin Bieber a representative of Canadian culture, the "Water" director said.

Mehta, who herself was honoured at the 2007 IIFA Awards, said though she will attend the weekend ceremonies, she doubts whether the mega-show will enhance Bollywood's appeal in North America.

She said North America can hardly add much to Bollywood's bottom line.

"It's hardly relevant. Of course there's a (North American) audience but it's a very limited audience. It's an audience that really is comprised of Southeast Asians," Mehta said.

Since IIFA organizers have been taking the show to the world's major cities each year to popularise Bollywood on the global stage, she said, "They are there for a purpose - they galvanize a nation for a period of time into really thinking about popular culture and that's fun. It's good, IIFA is what it is, which is pure entertainment but I think it's sort of dicey when you start thinking of it as something serious."

Wizcraft director Sabbas Joseph has described the Toronto IIFA Awards as "India's cinema's gateway to North America".

Major theatres and venues across Toronto and its surrounding Indian-dominated cities of Mississauga, Brampton, and Markham have been screening Bollywood films and shows since June 17 before the three-day extravaganza that will culminate in IIFA Awards at the city's Rogers Centre June 25.
